Threads
Save from Threads. Videos, photos, carousels.
From the post to your Downloads folder, at the size Threads served.
Grablet is a browser extension. Open the post on threads.com, play the video, click Save. The file goes to your Downloads folder. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, and nothing is stamped on it.
Free and unlimited. No account, no tracking, no watermarks.
Your browser will ask for access to websites. That is how Grablet sees media on the page you are on. Nothing is ever sent to us. Why it needs that
On Android, install Grablet in Firefox for Android. Also available on desktop Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Grablet is not available in Chrome for Android or Firefox on iOS.
How to save a video or photo from Threads
- Install Grablet from the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons or Firefox Add-ons. There is no sign-up.
- Open the post on threads.com as you normally would, and play the video for a moment.
- Click Save, on the post itself or in the Grablet popup, where everything on the page is listed by type and quality, best first.
The file lands in your Downloads folder, filed under the site’s name.
What it saves
- Videos in posts and replies, at the highest quality Threads served your browser.
- Photos at full size.
- Carousels, every item, video or photo.
- Posts you can see because you follow the account. Grablet only sees what your own browser has already loaded, in your own session.
What it won’t save
- Posts you have not scrolled to. Threads loads them as you go.
- Private profiles you do not follow. Nothing from them reaches your browser.
- Anything from the Threads phone app. Grablet works on threads.com in a desktop browser.
And, as everywhere: not YouTube, and nothing DRM-protected. Store policy in the first case, the law in the second. No setting unlocks either.
Questions
Is Threads the same as Instagram for Grablet?
Close to it. Threads is built on Instagram’s data, and Grablet reads both the same way. If you use both, one extension covers them.
Is there a watermark?
No. Grablet saves the file Threads served your browser and does not touch it.
Do I need to paste a link into a website?
No. Those sites fetch the video through their own servers, which is how they end up watermarking or resizing it. Grablet works from your browser, on the post itself, and no third party is involved.
Can it download a whole profile?
No. Grablet saves from the post you have opened. It never crawls a profile or a feed, and that is a rule, not a missing feature.
Does it work when I’m signed in?
Yes. It works on whatever you can see, because that is all it can see.
Private by construction
What you save never passes through us. Grablet finds the media, assembles a stream and saves the file inside your browser, needs no account, and never uploads anything. Its one server issues Pro licence keys and never learns what you save. The privacy policy is short because there is little to say.
Please only save content you have the right to keep, and respect the people who made it.
