Licences
Grablet is proprietary, and it includes open-source software. This is what ships inside the extension, and under which terms. From version 0.1.0.602 on, the full notices, with every licence text, are in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt at the root of the extension package. Earlier packages carry no such file, or a shorter one.
LAME
The MP3 encoder. Grablet uses LAME 3.100 compiled to WebAssembly, loaded at run time as its own file (assets/mp3-<hash>.wasm in the extension package) through the MIT-licensed wrapper wasm-media-encoders 0.7.0, whose file Grablet ships unchanged. That is how Chrome and Edge load it, in an offscreen page. The package also carries the same file, byte for byte, embedded in background.js as a data: URL, and Firefox, which converts in its background page, loads that copy. LAME is licensed under the GNU Library General Public License, version 2, or (at your option) any later version. Copyright 1999–2011 The LAME Project and 1999–2001 Mark Taylor; source at lame.sourceforge.io. The build in Grablet carries one small change by the wrapper's author (it stops a debug function printing) and leaves out LAME's decoder.
Because the encoder is a separate module, you may replace it in an unpacked copy of the extension with your own build of LAME; THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt says how. For Firefox, also replace the embedded copy: in background.js, the base64 text after data:application/wasm;base64, that decodes to the same bytes as assets/mp3-<hash>.wasm, with your file in base64. For at least three years from the last day we distribute a version of Grablet, we will give anyone who asks the complete source code of the encoder file it ships, for no more than the cost of sending it: write to support@grablet.app.
mux.js
Assembles transport-stream video into fragmented MP4. Copyright Brightcove, Inc., licensed under the Apache License, version 2.0. Source: github.com/videojs/mux.js. It brings global (MIT).
Mediabunny
Reads the video and sound of a saved file, and writes the MP4, .m4a and MP3 files, for clips, GIFs and sound-only saves. Grablet ships Mediabunny 1.61.4 from version 0.1.0.602 on. By Vanilagy, licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. Its source is the npm package mediabunny@1.61.4 and github.com/Vanilagy/mediabunny.
fflate
Built the ZIP files for saving many images at once in versions before 0.1.0.602; from 0.1.0.602 on, Grablet writes ZIP files with its own code. Copyright Arjun Barrett, licensed under the MIT licence.
gifenc
Encodes animated GIFs. Copyright Matt DesLauriers, licensed under the MIT licence.
wasm-media-encoders
Runs the MP3 encoder. Copyright arseneyr, MIT. It brings @swc/helpers (Apache License 2.0).
The media engine
Grablet's own engine is written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly. Its dependencies, among them mp4, wasm-bindgen, serde and the num crates, and the Rust standard library are published under MIT, or under a choice between MIT and Apache-2.0 or the Unlicense; Grablet uses each under MIT. One of them, unicode-ident, also carries the Unicode licence (Unicode-3.0) for its Unicode data. The engine's Stable Diffusion watermark reader is a port of the dwtDct decoder of invisible-watermark (MIT, ShieldMnt).
Extension framework
Built with WXT and Vite, both MIT. The code of theirs that ships in the package includes webextension-polyfill (Mozilla, Mozilla Public License 2.0; its source is at that link and in the npm package of the same name), and @wxt-dev/browser, @1natsu/wait-element and many-keys-map (all MIT).
